We're back!!!

Here we are back from a trip to Stavanger Norway from 11th to 14th March 2010!
Stavanger is a beautiful city on the west coast south of Norway placed at the center of an incredible ramification of fjords.
We left Thursday afternoon and arrived in the evening.
Friday morning we did a little tour.
We took a regular boat service connecting the various villages in these fjords: a breathtaking spectacle of incredible landscapes, small villages with colorful wooden houses on the sea, clean air and quiet tranquility.
A real paradise for us citizens of Milan......
The day goes on among the most scenic locations of Stavanger, and discover their kitchen.
Saturday we went to the pool to see the place and understand how the races had been organized.
We went into the pool and we were greeted by a giant flag of Italy made by the organization for our arrival, what an honor!
We are already at home!
We went into the pool and then discovered what many of us already knew: they had visited our website!
The welcome was unexpected and very warm.
We chatted with many guests and we immediately felt most welcome.
Standing at the side of the pool we looked a bit around and we could not find a place for room precall.
We could not see athletes in the line, waiting to leave for the race.
Why?
We asked and we saw some athletes who did not understand our request.
Finally we found one person who explained to us that there is no precall room because the start-list given in the morning already indicated which battery you have to go and what lane!
A scoreboard showed the number of battery left, when it's your turn you get closer to the blocks and go!!
But how wonderful, simply effective, no stress, absolute punctuality.
How many things we have to learn ...

Saturday's session race ended at 17 with a pool party with plenty of beer for all.
At 20 started instead a special “banquette” for all athletes: big party with over 600 people with dinner and music until late at night.
Unforgettable……:))))
Sunday we went again to the pool for the last greetings and we moveed to the airport to return to Milan.
We want to thank the Norwegian Swimming Federation (NSF) and all of the Norwegian Teams who hosted and all of the friends we got to know.
Thanks to everyone, it has been an unforgettable experience and see you again at  the Championship in October in Kristiansund!

Siamo tornati!!
Eccoci di ritorno dalla trasferta norvegese a Stavanger dall’11 al 14 marzo 2010!!!
Stavanger stupenda città sulla costa occidentale a sud della Norvegia collocata al centro di una incredibile ramificazione di fiordi
Siamo partiti giovedì 11 pomeriggio e arrivati in serata.
Venerdì mattina facciamo un po’ i turisti.
Prendiamo un battello di linea che collega i vari villaggi presenti nei fiordi: uno spettacolo mozzafiato di paesaggi incredibili, piccoli villaggi con case di legno colorate sul mare, aria pulita silenzio e pace assoluta.
Un autentico paradiso per noi milanesi…..
La giornata prosegue poi tra i luoghi più caratteristici di Stavanger, scoprendo anche la loro cucina
Sabato mattina andiamo in piscina per vedere il posto e capire come funzionano le gare.
Entriamo in vasca e veniamo accolti da una bandiera gigante dell’Italia messa dall’organizzazione per il nostro arrivo: che onore!!!
Ci sentiamo già a casa!!
Entriamo quindi in vasca e scopriamo che molti già ci conoscono: avevano visitato il nostro sito!!!
Un’accoglienza inaspettata e calorosa.
Abbiamo chiacchierato con molti e ci siamo subito sentiti ospiti strabenvenuti.
A bordo vasca ci guardiamo un po’ in giro e non riusciamo a trovare il posto per la prechiamata alle gare. Non vediamo atleti in coda, in attesa di partire per la gara.
Come mai?
Chiediamo ad alcuni atleti e vediamo che non capiscono proprio la nostra domanda.
Finalmente ne troviamo uno che ci spiega che da loro non esiste la prechiamata perché la start-list che viene data alla mattina indica già in quale batteria devi partire e in quale corsia!!!
Non esiste il tesserino di riconoscimento e nessuno controlla niente!!!
Un tabellone luminoso indica il numero della batteria in partenza, quando è il tuo turno ti avvicini ai blocchi e parti!!!!
Ma che cosa stupenda, semplice efficace, niente stress, puntualità assoluta.
Quante cose abbiamo da imparare…
Andrea purtroppo non gareggia per il suo persistente dolore alla spalla.

Sabato la sessione di gara si conclude alle 17 con una festa in piscina con abbondante birra per tutti.
Alle ore 20 inizia invece una festa speciale per tutti gli atleti: grande party con oltre 600 persone con cena e musica fino a notte fonda.
Davvero indimenticabile......
La Domenica passiamo ancora in piscina per gli ultimi saluti e ci avviamo all’aeroporto per il ritorno a Milano.
Vogliamo ringraziare la Federazione Norvegese, la squadra di Stavanger (che si chiama ROMA) che ci ha ospitato e tutti gli amici che abbiamo avuto modo di conoscere.
Grazie a tutti è stata un’esperienza indimenticabile e arrivederci alla Championship a Kristiansund in ottobre!!!
